Battle of Salamis (Cyprus)

I was on vacation with on Cyprus and I was reading Herodotus' History.
Coincidentally, we were a few miles from the ancient city of Salamis. The place where the Battle of Salamis took place before the beginning of the Greco-Persian wars.

At that time the self-proclaimed king Onisilus ruled in Salamis. His shieldbearer was Karyian, a great warrior. Onisilus feared the Persian commander, whose horse was taught to pierce the formation and kick the hooves into the shields. Karyian told the king not to worry about that, he would take care of the horse. He can even would kill the rider by him self alone, but he would give this privilege to the king.

In the battle they collided, and Karyian cut of horse´s legs, and Onisilus killed Artybius - the Persian commander.

Unfortunately, Cyprus Greeks eventually lost the battle because they were betrayed and Onisilus's head was impaled on stake where the bees had settled. :(
