Punic wars: Celts

Warriors of the Punic Wars
First part of the project:

So I just finish reading of Livy's and Polybios books.
From the foundation of Rome until the end of the Third Macedonian War and the destruction of the Carthage.

I am a big fan of Punic wars, especially the second one. Hannibal's genial campaign in Italy. Hard fighting in Hispania. The first battle of the Romans with the Macedonians. Roman determination and bravery. Carthaginian's cunning. Numid betrayal. Defense of Syracuse by Archimedes. Heroic battles and speeches. And many more stories...
All this is a mosaic of truly epic events.

Troops during the Second Punic War consisted of many nations and tribes. It was a war over whole Mediterranean!
There were, on the one hand, the Romans, the Italian Allies, who then fell to Carthaginian side. On the other hand, Carthage and their mercenaries from Spain, south of France and Africa stood.

In this series I will portray all the troops that participated in the Second Punic War.

Celts in Hannibal's army

The Celts were descriptive in the ancient chronicles, like huge mens with long hair, mustache, and who fought half naked with long swords. They were strong, but they did not manage fatigue and difficult conditions.

Some of the noble Celts wore chainmail armor, which Romans later copied. Roman helmets was originally a Gaulle design.
