The unKnown world of Ída

"Godfrey's Rebellion and Other stories from the unKnown World of Ída"

is the title of my illustrated book, which narrates the pseudo-history of this world. This world-building project originally emerged from the synthesis of several stories, concepts, and illustrations that were not initially connected but gradually fell into place like pieces of a puzzle over time.

The book is not written as a novel but rather as factual literature in the style of ancient authors, who have always been a primary and significant inspiration in my work. Although the unKnown world is fantasy, I strive to ground the entire world in reality. While the individual stories describe the history of this fantastical world from prehistoric times to the early Middle Ages of our historical timeline, there is nothing here that describes real history.
Even though I utilize certain events, cultures, names, and historical realities, the stories and the entire world are merely a combination and reflection of reality.

I have been intensely working on this project for over two years now, but the oldest ideas and initial concepts date back to 2010. It was partially art therapy for me during a difficult period, something that kept me going in life. Kind of escape from the painful reality. Today, the entire process is well-documented on my YouTube channel, where in each episode of world-building, I discuss lore, showcase the progress of creation, and delve into the artistic process behind individual illustrations and character designs.

At this moment, everything seems ostensibly complete, and the book could finished, but for me, the destination is not important; it's the journey. There are still many minor events, civilizations, and mini-stories that I would like to explore. At least one more (old) story will emerge, which I intend to introduce later, and I would like to fill many empty spaces. That's why I call the book unKnown world — because it's for me and now for many of you known world, but there are still plenty of mysteries that I'm happy to unveil, even though I myself don't KNOW them yet.

If you'd like to join me on this journey and support either me or this project, continue following my work here, on YouTube, or on Patreon for more exclusive content. Your support means everything to me. It gives me inspiration, the strength to continue, and without you, this project would not have seen the light of day. For that, I owe you my thanks, gratitude, and admiration.

Love you all
Michael
